Summer Reading for Adults

A Universe of Stories
Why let the kids have all the fun?! Make the time to enjoy some reading this summer as well, and sign up for the Jones Library's adult summer reading program. With a theme of "A Universe of Stories", Amherst residents are invited to set aside some time this summer to relax with a book, and explore all the things that libraries have to offer, whether it's reading materials, movies and music, programs, or other services.

How does it work?

It's a lot like what the kids have been doing for years. Just follow these easy steps:

  • Register to participate at the reference desk (or at one of the branches), and pick up a reading log to track the books you read during July and August. (Audiobooks count too!)
  • Read or listen to at least 3 books, and complete a book review form.
  • After August 1, return the log and the book review to the Jones Library reference desk, and claim your prize (a $5 gift card to Amherst Coffee or GoBerry). One gift card per participant.
  • To enter the drawing for the summer reading program grand prize, return your book log and book review by August 23th - you could be chosen to win one of three $75 gift cards for Amherst Books.
  • For another chance at the grand prize and other prizes, read three additional titles to complete the Libraries Rock! Tic-Tac-Toe card.  (These titles are in addition to the three title minimum to win a gift card.)

The drawing for the grand prize will be held on Saturday, August 24.

If you have questions, please contact the Reference Desk at 413-259-3096.
