Ruth Ware is being called a modern-day Agatha Christie. The menacing tone and many plot twists in her psychological suspense will keep you up late to find out what really happened. Harriet (“Hal”) is a young woman who struggles to make ends meet by reading tarot cards at a British seaside resort. She receives a letter telling her she is an heir to a fortune, and even though she knows there must have been a mistake, she can’t resist trying to claim it. But once at the gloomy mansion, she discovers that she does have a secret connection to the family, whose members are also hiding knowledge from her.
