Less introduces us to the endearingly awkward eponymous hero of this Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Arthur Less is about to turn fifty and his love life and work life are both in shambles. In desperation, the struggling novelist accepts a series of invitations to some half-baked literary events around the world. The character "Less" charms as Greer’s stunning sentences grab hold of the reader.
