When the vicar decides to close the church choir since all the men have gone to war, the women of Chilbury go rogue and form their own women-only community choir. These assorted women find the support, encouragement, and strength they need, especially when tragedy – and a bomb – strikes the village. Told through letters, notices, and journal entries, this is a wonderfully heartwarming novel of community and indomitable women, especially for those of us who find joy in singing together.
