Saturday, March 16, 2019

10:30 AM- 11:30 AM

Motoko has enchanted audiences of every age since 1993  and was recently the recipient of the National Storytelling Network’s 2017 Circle of Excellence Award. Motoko’s repertoire includes Asian folktales, Rakugo and Zen tales, ghost stories, mime vignettes, as well as oral memoirs from her childhood in Osaka and her life as an immigrant in the U.S.

Eshu Bumpus is a renowned storyteller, an accomplished jazz vocalist and a master at physical characterization. He captivates his audience by telling a variety of African, African-American and World folktales leavened with music, humor and mystery.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Amherst Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
