Paintings by Jo Tebaldi

Artist Photo - Jo Tebaldi

Because I am inspired by so many subjects, my paintings are a variety, an eclectic collection. Patterns, colors, rhythms and play of light are all elements of inspiration for painting landscapes, abstracts, portraits, or designs. The elements will beg to be painted and coaxed into view with paint, pencil, wax, and more to play on paper, canvas, and board.

Jo Tebaldi is a graduate of Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts where she majored in commercial art. She studied with Henry Hensche, Cape Cod School of Art in MA where she learned to really SEE color.

Jo's mediums are oil, oil and wax, acrylic, watercolor, water soluble pencils, oil and water soluble crayons and graphite. She has also worked in stained glass and batik. She is a member of two Plein Air groups in Florida and Massachusetts. She has won awards and has been juried into shows in MA and FL. Exhibits and one person shows include MA, FL and upstate NY. Her paintings can be viewed on her website: www.artworkbyjotebaldi.com

Jo lectured on graphic arts at Elms College, American International College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She was a commercial artist for several advertising agencies and co-owner of Mass Media in Amherst, developing promotional materials for companies.

She was a docent at Springfield’s Museum of Fine Arts for 4 years, and was assistant site coordinator for the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards in 1987.
