Choosing which college or university to attend can be overwhelming. The Career Center has a wide variety of titles to help you gather information. The Reference Department holds the most recent edition of many guides, but past editions as well as other guides can be found in the Career Center. This list provides a sampling of the many titles available.

CollegeNET - search for colleges by state, tuition, enrollment, major, and sports; find links to college web sites; file applications online; or search for financial aid information.
MassMentor - The Internet connection to Massachusetts independent colleges and universities. Provides information on planning for college, admissions and financial aid, school selection, and virtual tours.
Common Application - Online application form for almost 300 selective private undergraduate colleges and universities.
College Navigator - From the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Dept. of Education, a tool that allows you to see and compare profiles of almost 7,000 colleges and universities across the nation.
College and University Rankings - From the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, a compilation of links to rankings provided by a variety of ranking services.
Back to College - For nontraditional students and individuals going back to school after years of working. Includes information on distance education and online courses, financial aid, testing, admissions, etc.
Educational Testing Service - This is a nonprofit organization offering tips on taking the AP, GMAT, GRE, SAT, TOEFL, & Praxis Series. Also offers information on colleges, financial aid and job searching.
U.S. News & World Report - This site contains the college rankings that are published each fall. You can search for a college by major, city size, school size, religious affiliation, cost, etc. You also can get advice about financial aid, careers, resume writing and interviewing.
Princeton Review - Read articles on admissions secrets, what colleges want, essays and interviews. Search for a college and file an application online. Find out about going to law school, business school or to medical school. Provides information about the PSAT, SAT, and the ACT.
CollegeView - Offers campus tours, career and minority info, and profiles of over 3,800 universities, and more.
Assoc. of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts - Find descriptions and links to the web pages of member colleges and universities.
