Summer Reading Club 2010

@ the Jones Library

The Summer Reading Club starts on June 15th. Sign up at the Children's Desk or online. Read and report on 5 books. Book reports may be oral, written or artwork. Drop in at our informal Book Chats every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Explore Going Green with fun summer reading club workshops on Tuesdays in July from 7 - 8 pm.
July 6 - Kids Can Save the Earth
July 13 - Green Energy
July 20 - Recycyled and Reused Fun
For ages 7 and up.
Please sign up in the kids' room - space is limited.

Come to the Summer Reading Club Party in the Large Meeting Room on Tuesday, August 17 at 3:00 p.m, with special entertainment by Stephen Baird! With his musical instruments, puppets, songs, and stories, Stephen will entertain the child in all of us.

@ the Munson Memorial Library

To join the Munson Library's Summer Reading Club, children can register starting June 15 by filling out the reader's roster form - bring a picture of yourself to brighten up the library! Children will receive a book log to record the books read over the summer. Read 10 books to receive a prize. Read 20 or more books to earn a second prize! Visit the Munson Library 10 times during the summer, and receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone!

Please return the book logs by Monday, August 30. The Back-To-School Party will be held on Wednesday, September 1 at 4:30 pm in the garden of the Munson Library.

Children are asked to send the library post cards from your summer trips. Send them to Sue Hugus, Munson Memorial Library, 1045 South East Street, Amherst, MA 01002. Help us cover the library with post cards!

@ the North Amherst Library

Beginning June 15th, you may register at the North Amherst Library for the Summer Reading Club. Come visit us often at the library for reading and listening recommendations. You will be given a book log to record the titles and authors of the books that you read.

All reading club members and their families are invited to our Summer Reading Club Celebration. The party will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 28nd at the Mill River Park Pavilion. Refreshments will be served, with entertainment by Jay Mankita. If you read 10 books or more, you will receive a prize and a certificate to be awarded at the Reading Club Celebration.

Please return your book logs by August 21st.
