This library is in Portland, Oregon, but it is still useful for tracking down websites. They've organized the sites by topics such as, Animals, Health & Nutrition, Biographies, Religion, Science, and more. They even have a list of other sites that help with homework.
Great Websites for Kids
The American Library Association maintains this site. Under each main category, there are several subcategories to help you locate helpful websites. Categories include Arts & Entertainment, Literature & Language, People Past & Present, Planet Earth and Beyond, and Science and Technology.
B.J. Pinchbeck's Homework Helper
You'll find more at this newly redesigned site than just help with your homework. Find help with everything from math and computer science to health and foreign language. When you're done with your homework, take a break at the recess sites!
High School Hub
There's a lot here for the high school student. Besides the subject guide websites, there's a section on colleges, games & puzzles, newspaper links, and a Reference Collection that contains Scam Alerts, Sports Rules, Street Maps, Food History, and more.
Fact Monster
This site is useful for finding information that would be in almanacs, such as important dates, formulas, statistics, and grammar. There's also a section of games and quizzes.
FirstGov for Kids
This site is a portal providing links to federal government kids' sites, as well as links to some great kids sites from other organizations. The information is organized by subject.
Homework Help
Maintained by a library in Washington, there is a helpful list of links to resources for students in grades 4-12. Besides the typical subjects, other included topics are Holidays, Careers, and Research & Library Skills.
