2012 Music Series Program
The 35th annual music series for children ages 3-10 will be held at the Jones Library in the Large Meeting Room on the following dates. Admission is free due to the generosity of the Friends of the Jones Library System and the Amherst Cultural Council.
Cancellations due to snow will be announced on the Jones Library phone line at 413/259-3094.

Rick's lively interactive and humorous children's songs have made him one of the most popular children's entertainers in New England. His latest recording, I Like to Read, received a Parents' Choice Award, and features songs about books, libraries, and learning to read.
CELTIC HEELS-IRISH DANCE

This dance troupe beautifully blends unique choreography and the ancestral style of Irish dance with a toe-tapping, hand-clapping, vibrant modern flair! The troupe is made up of young people who attend the Celtic Heels School of Irish Dance.
BEETHOVEN'S WIG

Richard Perlmutter, creator of Beethoven's Wig, introduces young people to classical music with catchy and topical lyrics. He will perform solo, playing the piano as well as singing. He has just released his fifth album, Beethoven's Wig: Sing Along Piano Classics.

Ben Gundersheimer (Mister G) performs original tunes full of kid-friendly lyrics and singable melodies. He was the 2011 Parents' Choice Award winner. His latest CD Bugs contains several bilingual (English/Spanish) songs.
GERWICK PUPPETS

Aesop's fables "The Fox and the Crow", "Country Mouse and City Mouse", "The Fox, Donkey, and the Lion" are the classic fables acted out with puppets by Len Gerwick. The moral of the stories is Appreciate what you have, and learn from the mistakes of others.
